Backcountry Science is a podcast about discoveries made in the outdoors. Each episode I’ll tell a story about scientists who trek out to the field to explore, learn, and find answers to their burning scientific questions. You’ll hear what it’s like to try to do science with an often unpredictable Mother Nature as a laboratory, and the methods scientists resort to to find answers. You’ll go with them to beautiful wild rivers, windswept mountain peaks, forest restoration sites, and out to the deep sea. And you’ll hear the wonder in their voice as they share their love for the species and environments they study.
